Taiwan’s MICE Promotion Program (MEET TAIWAN) Networking Event, organized by Taiwan’s Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) and implemented by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taiwan Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur was unveiled successfully today in Price Hotel to further improve and steer Taiwan’s MICE industry.
Six reputable Taiwan’s travel and MICE companies consisting of ABLY Conference and Exhibition Co., Ltd, China Airlines, Eva Air, Kuching Travel Service Co., Ltd, Taiwan Tour Travel Services Ltd, and MSL Group shared about plans on Taiwan’s high value-added conferences and incentive travels, attracting attendance and allowing networking from over a hundred of Malaysia’s companies.
MEET TAIWAN, a four-year program launched in 2013 by Bureau of Foreign Trade Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan has a vision of transforming Taiwan into a leader for outstanding MICE services, and bears long-term objectives at improving quality and efficiency of exhibition services, enhancing Taiwan’s reputation and competitiveness as a global destination to attract more visitors to the island.
According to Ms. Lily Su, Deputy Executive Director of MEET TAIWAN Program, to increase its brand awareness and visibility, promote global coverage for Taiwan’s MICE, bring more international events and attract Malaysia’s industry associations to organize business meetings and incentive tourisms in Taiwan, MEET TAIWAN once again takes place in Malaysia this year with participation from reputable Taiwanese companies to create business opportunities.
“Since 2013, besides leading Taiwan’s industry to participate in major international conferences and exhibitions, we also have been organizing promotional events and roadshows in China, Southeast and Northeast Asia, and other countries in seek of more business opportunities.”
Ms. Jessie Tseng, Director of Taiwan Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur stated that Malaysians love traveling, especially to Taiwan. Last year, Taiwan embraced and welcomed 430 thousand visitors from Malaysia, in which this figure shows a substantial growth on average every year. Therefore, she believed that Malaysia has high potential as an emerging market for MEET TAIWAN.
Statistics from Taiwan Tourism Bureau indicated that for four consecutive years Malaysia and Singapore stood up among other Southeast Asian countries as the champion in the number of people visiting to Taiwan. This year, it is hoped that this event promotes Taiwan as Asia’s best venue for MICE, creates more business opportunities and draws more corporates to hold conferences and exhibitions in Taiwan.
Taiwan is a country rich in many natural blessings, foods and human touches. Last year, “The New York Times” enlisted this island as one of the 52 must-go places of year 2014. On the other hand, Taiwan was ranked 8th in 2015’s top 10 most attractive tourist destinations by “Lonely Planet”.
